Los Bermejos Malvasia Volcanica Seco 2023

This textured, crisp and mineral white is produced from Malvasía Volcánica, a grape that is truly indigenous to the Canary Islands and its unique terroir. A volcanic explosion that lasted from 1730-1736 covered the entire island in lava and ash 3-5 meters deep. The volcanic ashes (also called “picon”) that cover the topsoil help retain water and protect the delicate vines from from the scorching sun. This entry, from winemaker Ignacio Valdera, is fascinatingly crisp and bright, with lush floral notes and hints of white peach and Asian pear on the palate, backed by a mouthwatering, salty finish.
