Le Babbler Bordeaux 2020
From Château Lauduc in the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux, this sustainably farmed blend is made for everyday drinking. The vineyards are certified HVE (High Environmental Value) and the vines average around 35 years old, planted on limestone-clay, siliceous and gravel soils. The red version is Merlot-dominated (about 90%) with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged for around 12 months in an equal mix of stainless steel and oak.
Tasting Notes
In the glass it shows a medium ruby hue. The nose offers black cherry, plum and violet aromas, with subtle hints of cedar and earth. On the palate it’s medium-bodied, featuring ripe plum and red berry fruit, smooth tannins and a fresh finish driven by gentle acidity and minerality.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with grilled flank steak or a hearty beef burger—its fruit and structure support the meat without overpowering it. For a more playful twist, try it with spicy sausage and roasted pepper flatbread—the wine’s smooth tannins and ripe fruit hold up nicely to bold flavor.
