Bordiga Centum Herbis

Bordiga has been making spirits in the alpine town of Cuneo, Piedmont since 1888, with recipes that draw deeply from the surrounding mountains and meadows. Centrum Herbis is one of their more modern creations, but it stays true to the distillery’s roots: an herb-driven amaro built on botanicals foraged from the Italian Alps. The “Centrum” name nods to balance, a meeting point where bitter, herbal, and citrus notes converge. Every step of production is still done in small batches, using hand-harvested botanicals and slow maceration to capture the natural intensity of alpine plants.

Tasting Notes
Herbis opens with a bright alpine nose of mint, thyme, and wildflowers, edged by citrus peel. The palate is layered but focused: crisp herbal bitterness woven with lemon zest and a touch of gentian earthiness. The finish is clean and refreshing, carrying a lingering snap of mountain herbs that invites another sip.

Serving Suggestion
Serve over ice with soda water for a refreshing aperitif, or mix into a Paper Plane–style cocktail.
