Dolin, located in Chambéry at the foot of the French Alps, has been producing its Génépy des Alpes (also known as Le Chamois) since 1821, using local high-altitude Artemisia (génépy) and alpine botanicals. The plant génépy (a form of Artemisia) is native to the Savoy mountains and historically used in folk medicine and mountain hospitality. Dolin’s expression is granted a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), ensuring that botanical harvesting, maceration, and distillation occur within the alpine region.

Tasting Notes
Aromas begin with crisp herbal freshness: mountain sage, chamomile, mint, and faint floral notes. On the palate it’s pungent and herbaceous, with gentle sweetness and a balance of green herbal tones and citrus peel. The finish transitions into warming mint, subtle lavender, and a lingering alpine herb resonance.

Serving Suggestion
Serve well chilled on its own, or lighten it with tonic (especially lemon or grapefruit tonic) for a refreshing alpine spritz. It also works beautifully in cocktails where you want herbal lift without the intensity of Chartreuse.
