Faccia Brutto was founded in Brooklyn by Patrick Miller to bring the tradition of Italian amari and liqueurs into a modern American craft context. Their Centerbe is inspired by the classic Abruzzese centerbe (“hundred herbs”), a rustic mountain liqueur known for its intensity and wild-foraged character. Staying true to that heritage, Faccia Brutto’s Centerbe is a bold, green spirit infused with over a dozen herbs and botanicals, macerated to capture vivid aromatics and layered bitterness. It’s their homage to a style that historically doubled as medicine, digestivo, and ritual spirit — meant to wake up the senses and command attention.

Tasting Notes
The nose is piercingly herbal, with peppermint, sage, and wild thyme leaping forward, supported by resinous pine and bitter alpine florals. On the palate it is powerful and high-toned, a rush of minty freshness cut by earthy spice, gentian root, and bitter citrus rind. The finish is long, sharp, and cooling, leaving a trail of green herbs and lingering spice that recalls traditional Chartreuse but with its own raw, modern edge.

Serving Suggestion
Best sipped neat in small pours or used sparingly in cocktails that call for bold herbal intensity.
