San Lorenzo Di Gino Verdicchio 2023

$25.00

Comes from Fattoria San Lorenzo in Marche, Italy—100% estate‑grown Verdicchio on clay‑ and limestone‑rich soils in Montecarotto, Ostra, Ostra Vetere, and Corinaldo. Winemaker Natalino Crognaletti carries on life’s work of his father Gino selecting long‑lived clones. Certified organic and biodynamic, fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged about six months on the lees in concrete before minimal filtration and bottling.

Tasting Notes
Bright and medium-bodied, this Verdicchio opens with aromas of white flowers, mint leaves, pear, and citrus. On the palate, you’ll find crisp acidity balanced by a rich texture—think lightly toasted nuts, melon, and stone fruit framed by flinty minerality. The finish is long, savory, and zippy, with great length and freshness thanks to the lees aging

Food Pairings
In true U.S. style, this is a fantastic match for a crisp Caesar salad topped with grilled shrimp or local hard cheeses from Wisconsin or Vermont. For something bold and fun, try it alongside fried soft‑shell crab or coconut shrimp with a citrus‑herb dipping sauce—its bright acidity and nutty undercurrent pair beautifully with crunchy, coastal flavors.
