There is around 350 grape varieties in use in Italy so its definitely a full time job to keep track of all of them. This white utilizes the carricante varietal, a grape well known in the Etna region. We find this bottle to be as interesting as where it was grown. On the nose, we get notes of peach, lemon peel, and honey. On the palate it has a medium body with notes of tart lime, almond, and lovely minerality attributed to the volcanic soil. Pair this with a beautiful seafood meal, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, or even thai fried rice.
