Monteleone Etna Rosso 2022
Made from 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Nerello Cappuccio, this wine is sourced from organically farmed vineyards on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, grown in volcanic soils at 600–700 meters above sea level. Fermentation happens with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging for 10–12 months in large used oak barrels and a few months in bottle before release.
Tasting Notes:
Vivid ruby in the glass, with aromas of wild strawberry, sour cherry, pomegranate, and subtle notes of Mediterranean herbs and crushed volcanic rock. The palate is fresh and energetic, showing bright red fruit, fine tannins, and a distinct saline, mineral lift on the finish — classic Etna elegance.
Food Pairing:
Enjoy with Sicilian-style grilled sausages with fennel, where the juicy, herby flavors match the wine’s bright acidity and spice. Or go playful with pepperoni pizza, letting the wine’s tangy fruit cut through the richness for an easygoing, crowd-pleasing combo.
