Occhipinti IL Frappato 2023

A 100% Frappato red from Sicily, crafted by Arianna Occhipinti in the Vittoria region. Biodynamically farmed and organically certified, this wine is spontaneously fermented with native yeasts, unfined and unfiltered—an authentic expression of place and minimal intervention. 

Tasting Notes

Bright red fruit pops immediately—think cherry, red currant, and black raspberry—layered with delicate floral tones of rose and aromatic herbs. A light frame with silky, juicy texture gives way to vibrant acidity, fine mineral energy, and a subtle whisper of smoke or cinder. The finish is long, slightly dusty, and savory in a lovely, terroir-driven way. 

Food Pairings

This wine pairs beautifully with grilled pork belly or prosciutto-wrapped melon—rich and salty meets fresh fruit and acidity. It's also a smart match with a classic Italian sausage sandwich topped with sharp provolone and peppers. Another fun twist?
